Shopping for beauty products is about to become a little more peaceful.
Starting July 7, Sephora Canada is launching Quiet Hours in 119 stores nationwide—representing 81 per cent of its Canadian locations. Held every Wednesday and Saturday during the first hour of business, the initiative is designed to create a lower-sensory shopping experience for anyone who prefers a calmer environment.
During Quiet Hours, participating stores will reduce music volume, minimize sensory stimulation where possible, and encourage a more awareness-led approach to customer service, allowing guests to browse comfortably and at their own pace.
Developed in collaboration with neurodiversity experts and community members, Sephora is the first beauty retailer to introduce Quiet Hours on a global scale. Participating stores will feature dedicated signage, while Beauty Advisors will wear custom pins and lanyards to help guests easily identify when Quiet Hours are in effect.
It’s another thoughtful step toward making beauty shopping more inclusive, accessible and welcoming—because everyone deserves to experience beauty in a way that feels right for them. —Noa Nichol
