Luxury fashion has long associated Italian designer Brunello Cucinelli with impeccable craftsmanship, timeless cashmere and the rise of quiet luxury. Now, the visionary behind one of fashion’s most admired brands is the subject of a new feature-length documentary coming to Canadian theatres this month.

Brunello: The Gracious Visionary opens in select Canadian cinemas on July 24, offering an intimate portrait of the designer whose philosophy of “humanistic capitalism” has reshaped ideas about what a luxury business can be. Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Giuseppe Tornatore (Cinema Paradiso), the film blends archival footage, dramatic recreations and personal reflections to trace Cucinelli’s journey from the son of a farmer in rural Umbria to the founder of a global fashion house valued in the billions.

Beyond the beautiful clothes, the documentary explores the values that have guided Cucinelli’s career: craftsmanship, dignity, beauty and social responsibility. It also shines a spotlight on Solomeo, the restored medieval Italian village that serves as both the headquarters of his company and a living expression of his belief that business should enrich communities as much as balance sheets.

For fashion lovers, the film offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at one of the industry’s most influential thinkers and the philosophy that helped define today’s quiet luxury movement. It’s an inspiring reminder that enduring style isn’t just about what we wear—it’s about the values woven into every stitch.
